Venue:CMS Cameron McKenna (CMCK), Mitre House, 160 Aldersgate Street, London EC1A 4DD
It has been estimated that the proportion of gas in UK electricity generation is set to double, from 30% to over 60%, by the end of this decade. This will require a major expansion of the UK gas market, and poses several strategic questions.
The government has announced its own proposals for a gas strategy.
There is much discussion as to the sources of gas supply, including LNG, and whether they will be adequate. Similarly, there is much speculation as to the level of prices which will exist; last month saw UK gas prices at their highest for several years. Can shale gas ease such concerns?
To discuss these and other aspects of UK gas strategy, do come to this UKWEC event on 11 June.

Alistair Buchanan CBE, Chief Executive, Ofgem
Jonathan Holyoak, Head of Fossil Fuel Generation Policy, Department of Energy & Climate Change (DECC)
