What you’ll do:

This role is part of our small, busy, friendly, London-based communications team, delivering the EI’s marcomms strategy in support of the wider organisation’s business objectives.

The successful candidate will need to juggle diverse activities across the marketing mix:

  • Campaigns – ensure the timely delivery of all tasks involved in each marketing plan, utilising all channels and tactics, and where possible cross-promoting our complementary products/offerings.
  • Analysis – assess the success of each campaign and highlight any recommendations going forward through data analysis via the CRM, google ads, google analytics, and email and social media analytics.
  • Email marketing – produce a mixture of content and product driven email marketing campaigns.
  • Social media – produce content for social media channels, posting in line with the marketing plan and when there is high engagement on relevant topics.
  • External promotion – organise both paid and unpaid partnerships to further our visibility and reach, and organise promotional exhibition stands and materials for industry events.
  • Materials – be responsible for creating a range of marketing materials to support different departments, including adverts, banners, and brochures.
  • Processes – work in an efficient manner and follow all internal processes to ensure content is signed off in time and keep track of all paid activity from a budget perspective.
  • Manage the event and training web pages – create the event webpages, write content, and update with ongoing programme changes.
  • CRM management - research and select core audiences to target from our database for each marketing activity, taking care to observe proper data protection procedures.
  • Proofreading – check all copy before publishing.
  • Communications and networking – liaising with potential customers at events and exhibitions.
  • Provide some admin support – deal with customer queries and registrations.

The knowledge, experience and qualifications you need:

  • A marketing related degree or 1-2 years’ marketing experience
  • Creative copywriting skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Proficiency in using InDesign/Photoshop
  • Familiarity of using email marketing software, preferably MailChimp
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite
  • Adaptability and being able to multi-task and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience using a CRM system
  • Commercial awareness

Desirable:

  • Prior experience of working in events, training or a membership body is an advantage
  • An interest in energy and climate change
  • An aptitude for data analytics
  • Experience negotiating contracts with media partners

Salary: £25,000 – £27,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits
