We are looking for a dynamic, self-motivated, articulate Management Accountant, with experience in the preparation of financial management reports. The role will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of periodic financial management reports, providing guidance to budget holders, responsible for taxation and ensure the accuracy of all records. The ideal candidate will be have excellent IT and administrative skills. In addition, you will have had experience of working with accounting systems.

What you’ll do:
This role is part of our small, busy, friendly, London-based finance team, delivering the EI’s financial strategy in support of the wider organisation’s business objectives.
The successful candidate will need to work to tight deadlines, be efficient in producing timely and accurate information with the following key responsibilities:
- To assist in the preparation of periodic financial management report for leadership team, budget holders and Finance & Audit committee.
- Preparation and submission of VAT to external organisations.
- Prepare and submit Gift Aid.
- Administer the production of year end accounts.
- Supervise bank reconciliations for all bank accounts and to produce regular reconciliations of other accounts.
- To provide assistance and guidance to all budget holders.
- To control all entries to the ledger and to ensure that appropriate documentation is received and filed.
- Liaise with branches to determine budgets and year end reporting.
Other duties
- To be a point of contact for both internal and external financial enquires to ensure compliance with all financial regulations.
- Contribute to the development of and maintain financial controls policies.
- Ensure all accounting records are processed in a timely manner
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity and security of banking procedures
- To liaise with external auditors and compliance auditors as required.
- Working in accordance with agreed policies, procedures and practice inclusive of Health and Safety at Work requirements.
- Actively participate in appraisals, team meetings.
- Undertake any other duties necessary to this port as delegated by the Financial Controller.
Experience
The knowledge, experience, and qualifications you need:
- AAT Level 4 or equivalent.
- Experience in financial reporting and forecasting.
- Numeracy, attention to detail, efficiency and accuracy.
- Experience in using accounting software (preferably IRIS but not essential).
- Demonstrable ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a collaborative approach to achieving organisational goals.
- Able to plan, prioritise and carry out routine work.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to convey information clearly and courteously, in person, by phone and in writing.
- Discretion and proven ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Accounting experience: 5 years
Desirable / person specification:
- Knowledge of VAT rules and procedures
- Proficient use of Microsoft Outlook
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills.
- An enthusiastic approach and keenness to learn.
Salary: Up to £45,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits
