The Energy Institute (EI) is seeking volunteers to join the Energy Advisory Panel (EAP) – a group of eminent EI members and representatives from key energy industry stakeholders with a focus on communications and engagement.
This is an exciting opportunity to provide critical expertise, guidance, and governance in advancing the Energy Institute’s purpose and strategy with a focus on informing energy decision making through convening expertise and advice and communicating and engaging audiences in the energy transition. As a volunteer on the panel, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of energy while demonstrating your professional expertise and commitment to your field. By joining, you will help the EI fulfil its charitable mission - driving a just global energy transition to net zero and creating a better energy future for our members and society.
We welcome volunteers from across the entire energy ecosystem, spanning traditional and emerging sectors, technology, policy, system thinking, and international collaboration.
We encourage applications from growth markets and young professionals.
While we welcome all backgrounds, skills such as strategic thinking, innovation and problem-solving, technical knowledge, public engagement, marketing and communications, regulatory understanding, and stakeholder engagement and collaboration would be particularly beneficial.
The Energy Advisory Panel (EAP) Committee reports to the Council of the Energy Institute.
Energy Advisory Panel Remit:
- Monitor energy trends and policies and provide the EI with expert guidance.
- Support the EI’s public relations activities and help shape EI’s knowledge-sharing activities and industry events.
- Support the development of critical insight-led products like the Energy Barometer and Statistical Review of World Energy.
- Participate in public speaking opportunities at key industry events, such as International Energy Week or Energy Policy Debates, if needed.
- Collaborate with top industry leaders and experts across key energy sectors.
Commitment:
- Serve a 3-year term
- Attend quarterly (virtual) meetings.
- If needed, provide written feedback and expert guidance on EI knowledge products, including reports, guides, publications, and events.
- If needed, contribute to EI’s responses to government consultations.
