EI Connect – The Energy Institute’s Mentoring Platform
EI Connect is the EI's mentoring service – it's designed to help you connect with other energy professionals to share knowledge and experience.
Are you an experienced Energy Professional looking to share your knowledge and help others progress? Perhaps you are just starting out in your career and need advice on how to move forward, or want to develop your knowledge in a particular area? EI Connect can help.
Getting started is simple
- Choose what you would like to work on - for example, to achieve a particular career goal or connect with another professional for peer-to-peer mentoring.
- EI Connect helps you find a mentor who might be able to help.
- There are videos, and advice along the way to support you through each stage of your mentoring journey, to help you get the most out of your relationship.
Want to become a mentor?
You can sign up as an EI Connect mentor if there is an area or areas where you feel that you could support other energy professionals. It might be dealing with a particular challenge, working towards a professional qualification, or developing knowledge in a new area. As an EI Connect mentor, you are in control: you decide how many people you want to support, and when you want to make yourself available to others as a potential mentor.
To become an EI Connect mentor, you’ll need to
- be an Associate or a professional member of the EI - if you aren’t already an EI member and would like to join, you can sign up quickly and easily here.
- be committed to giving your time to a mentoring relationship - as part of your registration you will be asked to sign up to the EI Connect Mentoring Commitment.

Want to become a mentee?
You can sign up as a mentee on EI Connect if there is a goal or area you would like to work on with another energy professional.
To become an EI Connect mentee, you’ll need to
- be an Associate or a professional member of the EI - if you aren’t already an EI member and would like to join, you can sign up quickly and easily here.
- have a specific goal in mind for what you’d like to achieve - this could be anything from career progression or CV and interview skills, to advice on setting up a new business or working towards a professional qualification such as CEng.
- be committed to giving your time to a mentoring relationship - as part of your registration you will be asked to sign up to the EI Connect Mentoring Commitment.

There are a few important ground rules in making a mentoring relationship effective – for example, your responsibilities to one another and things like confidentiality and trust – so when you join EI Connect we ask you to sign up to our Mentoring Commitment.
