Welcome to EI Together, the Energy Institute’s online community. The goal of this community is to foster learning, knowledge sharing, networking, and collaboration. Before you get going, please take a few minutes to read the following on data protection and our community guidelines.
Data protection
In becoming a user of EI Together you are consenting to the use of your personal data and should be aware of the following:
- As a user of EI Together, you will receive email notifications from the platform.
- Your personal EI Together profile and any information you share in groups on the platform will be visible to other users.
- You can easily leave any group in which you are no longer interested, or simply unsubscribe from email announcements relating to that group.
- You have the right to permanently leave EI Together altogether. To terminate your access and delete your data, please send a message to eitogether@energyinst.org.
- The EI Together platform is provided by Centrepoint Computer Services, the same data processor used by the EI for its central membership database.
- The Energy Institute collects and uses personal data in line with its Privacy Policy. EI Together is also subject to the Energy Institute’s Terms and Conditions.
Community guidelines
To ensure that this space remains welcoming, respectful, and aligned with our core values and the purpose of this platform, we have developed clear community guidelines.
In becoming a user of EI Together, you are committing that you understand and will uphold these guidelines.
1. Relevant content:
- The Energy Institute’s mission is to create a better energy future for members and society. When participating in this community through posts, comments, and content sharing, please focus your discussions, questions, and contributions on topics related to this mission.
2. Respectful, open and professional collaboration:
- We are an inclusive community, and we treat each other with love and respect. Please be kind, considerate, and empathetic in your interactions. Discrimination, hate speech, or any form of harm towards others will not be tolerated.
- We encourage open and professional collaboration. When sharing ideas, feedback, or engaging in discussions, do so respectfully and constructively. Disagreements are fine, but personal attacks or hostility are not allowed.
- While we are here to work towards a better energy future, we also want our community to be an enjoyable place for learning and growth. Feel free to ask questions, share knowledge, and have fun along the way.
3. Safety, privacy and confidentiality:
- Be aware information you share on EI Together will be publicly visible to other users.
- Please respect the privacy and confidentiality of others. Do not share personal or sensitive information, either publicly or privately, and do not disclose confidential information.
- Avoid sharing spam, phishing links, irrelevant promotions, or any content that could compromise the safety and security of our community members.
4. Compliance with legal, ethical standards and antitrust guidelines:
- All members are expected to follow legal and ethical standards in their interactions and content sharing. These include copyright, trademark, and intellectual property rights.
- To avoid any breach of competition law, the following discussions are not allowed:
Pricing and pricing elements: including individual company or industry prices, differentials, margins, changes, mark ups, discounts, allowances, rebates, commission rates, credit terms, terms of sale.
Market sharing: including matters relating to individual customers, joint tendering, intention to enter bids or markets, or other forms of sharing or allocating the market with competitors.
Future plans and strategic intentions: including non-public future investment or divestment plans, or the design production and marketing of products.
Costs: including production and distribution costs, accounting formulae and methods of computing costs, individual company figures on source of supply, inventories, sales etc.
Production: including capacity expansion or de-bottlenecking intentions, over capacity/supply forecasts, shutdown, mothballing, investment intentions.
5. Moderation, reporting and violations
- EI Together is moderated to maintain a safe and positive environment. If you encounter any behaviour or content that violates these guidelines, please click ‘report’ for it to be reviewed.
- The Energy Institute reserves the right to take action in the event of violations of these guidelines. Violations may result in warnings or removal from the community - depending on the severity. Our aim is to create a space where we can collectively work towards our mission, learn from one another, and build a better energy future together.
