The digital transformation is the fourth industrial revolution. Historically industrial revolutions have had a significant positive effect on the advancement of civilization. Like previous revolutions this will fundamentally change the way we work.

Digital and technological advancements show no signs of slowing; the concept of a ‘job for life’ is slipping away. The skills the workforce require are evolving and are likely to change several times over the course of one’s career. Many young professionals will move into roles that currently don’t exist.

There is not a sector or industry immune to the changes in operating practise. The purpose of this YPN event is to highlight that the fourth industrial revolution is impacting all careers in the energy industry whether they work for high energy users, energy producers or the professional services supporting the energy industry ‘frontline’. This event will showcase some exciting technology developments taking place in the energy industry, which are changing the way we work, and stimulate discussion on upcoming technological innovations.
