With the advent of Brexit and continuing turbulence in the energy sector, the Energy Institute in partnership with Leeds Sustainability Institute, has assembled a panel of industry experts to provide their ideas and opinions on what might be next for the UK energy industry.
This will be followed by a panel discussion, providing the audience with a comprehensive industry view and the opportunity to ask questions. The event will be headlined by Louise Kingham OBE FEI, Chief Executive of the Energy Institute along with other leading figures in the energy sectors.
This event is a must for energy, carbon and engineering sector professionals looking for the chance to listen, engage and network with energy sector leaders, right here in Yorkshire!
Keynote speech – Louise Kingham. Louise is Chief Executive of the Energy Institute (EI) and has spent 25 years working with energy professionals around the world.

- Robin Hale. Robin is Chief Executive of the Major Energy Users Council, where he supports large energy users by providing up to date information on energy markets and compliance.
- Chris Gorse. Chris is a Professor of Construction and Project Management, Director of the Leeds Sustainability Institute and Head of the Centre of the Built Environment at Leeds Beckett University.
- Julia Szajdzicka. Julia is the Managing Director of ND Metering Solutions which has designed and manufactured sub-metering since 1975.

The Level 3: Advanced Energy Manager course exceeded my expectations. The course was delivered by energy industry professionals with years of experience, who all ensured that each topic was explained and talked through until everyone in the room was comfortable with it. "The difficult economic situation that we are going through must push loss-adjusting firms, based in Morocco, to open up more internationally. However, gaining the trust of the major players in the insurance industry, particularly in London, Paris or Munich, is not an easy task. Admittedly, the requirements are not the same, given the size of the Moroccan market, but we can try to get as close as possible to them by obtaining certificates recognised abroad. Therefore, I would like to thank the Energy Institute for the online training courses offered, rich in information on issues we often encounter in our business. "Before the course, I had a little professional experience in domestic zero-carbon energy technology but I was inexperienced in any other theory and practical topic, audits etc. This provided me with the building blocks to understand this, including the calculations, quickly. The course tutor, Chris was excellent in his teaching, knowledge and support. He made it easy to learn with his patient and insightful teaching style and very clear instructions. Chris provides individual support throughout the course and beyond which is incredibly valuable for someone like myself who is fairly new to the energy industry.
The trip to Southbank University was a great addition and allowed for some much-needed practical learning and informal bonding with fellow coursemates and Chris. The EI Team at the EI HQ were also great and popped in to check everyone is happy and to have a chat.
