Join the EI East Midlands branch for a webinar on heat pumps.

Heating our homes and businesses produces the largest proportion of carbon emissions in the UK. Heat pumps provide the path to decarbonisation of heat via electrification. In the latter part of 2020, the government put in place real plans to increase the uptake of heat pumps in domestic and commercial buildings for heating and cooling, with an ambitious goal of 600,000 heat pumps per year by 2028.

This webinar by Laura Bishop will explore the reasons behind this ambition and how we can achieve this. Laura will look at the myths behind heat pump deployment and how good engineering practice will enable heat pumps to be used in the majority of domestic, commercial and industrial buildings across the UK on our road to Net Zero.

Laura is a chartered mechanical engineer, registered with the Institute of Mechanical Engineers. She has 20 years engineering experience with a number of blue-chip companies including Rolls Royce and E.ON Connecting Energies. She runs Infinitas Design Ltd, a Derby-based independent renewable heat engineering consultancy where she undertakes the design and development of mainly heat pump, heat network and energy storage projects for a variety of clients as well as advising on the government renewable heat incentive scheme.

Laura is Chair of the Ground Source Heat Pump Association which lobbies on behalf of the industry as well as connecting others in the industry to collaborate on training, education and standards for heat pump design, installation and maintenance.

This webinar is free to attend, but registration is required. Please book now to avoid disappointment!
